Xoom owners in the US have had the update for months now and in June Motorola announced that it was starting to roll out the update outside of the US, android tablets uk saying, "Owners in Europe can expect updates over the next several weeks", but this never happened until today.
Motorola told us the reason for the delay was to make sure everything was ready for a successful rollout via testing and said, "We know Motorola XOOM owners in Europe have been anxiously awaiting the Android 3.1 update. .slate tablet pc The testing process is now complete and we confirmed yesterday that the update was beginning to roll out in many countries."
Normally an update like this would mean the device is on the latest version but there are already tablets available that are running Android 3.2, such as Acer's Iconia Tab A100.
As well as new features, including resizable widgets,android 2.2 tablet the update to Android 3.1 will mean that Xoom tablet owners will finally be able to use the SD card slot in the device.
